Error 792 when attempting to connect to L2TP/IPSec Tunnel on Juniper SSG5 using Windows XP VPN client.
We have just finished configuring L2TP VPN access for a remote Juniper SSG-5 security appliance. We have properly imported the certs (using the Certificates MMC), and are now attempting to connect to the VPN using the provided Microsoft VPN client (under Control Panel > Network Connections > New Connection Wizard). We've altered the settings on the Windows VPN client to be L2TP'/IPSec, but when we attempt to connect, we get the following error:
Error 792: The L2TP connection attempt failed because security negotiation timed out.
I am having trouble finding information online about this issue. Does anyone have any idea why this might be occuring?
Please note that the XP machine I am attempting to connect with is behind a Juniper NS5GT security appliance itself.
