remote desktop cannot connect to remote computer following window updates
Cannot connect to terminal server using remote desktop connection using either local ip or external ip address.
the server needed a restart this morning following windows updates. since then we cannot connect remotely to the server.
details:
windows server 2003 R2 sp2
can ping other ip addresses of servers on the network
logon script (from PDC) has run attaching our network drives
so def on the network. have rebooted server. checked regedit and port no still correct. Saw one post that sometimes windows firewall can block a port following windows updates. Windows firewall is currently set to off

check the "allow remote desktop connections" option

sorry fogot to add that. did check and allow remote desktop connection is checked.
just uninstalled the recent windows security updates and rebooted server but still cannot connect via local ip or external address.

the only other update installed recently is Windows Management Framework Core. Do I need this? Can it be uninstalled?
Reading about I see it is not entirely supported for older OS versions such as windows 2003.
