Remote System Explorer Problem

Hi experts...
I have installed the remote system explorer in eclipse europa.
It works fine but in ftp mode i am able to traverse down my home directory but not upwards.
Please can any one suggest any methods to traverse up the directory or change the home directory to only root i.e "/".

FTP wont allow you to go up.

It starts from the logged in users home directory and traverse down.

Probably because the ftp server is restricting access to anything else (as it normally should)

You'll have to reconfigure at the server itself

Depending on the FTP Server, the configuration will differ.

But in ssh mode i can access my / directory but it is so slow that just to expand a folder it takes a lot of time.

cmalakarCommented:
yes, ssh it will allow you to traverse, if the logged in user has the permission set.

You might find it quicker to use locate from the root path

If you think FTP is fast enough, you may want to configure server, to take the logged in home directory to "/" instead of any other.

If you're talking about locate, then it sounds like you have quite different (or additional) problems
