sonicwall pro 2040

i have a sonicwall pro2040 in place and i have noticed that some downloads never complete downloading.

my PC is part of the 'bypass filter' ip range and i still have issues with these downloads timing out.

one example is MS Windows Updates, but only some of them.

the other day it prompted me to get windows 7 sp1.  i let it sit all night long, i came back the next day and it was still sitting at 2%.  i bypassed the firewall, completley, and plugged in directly to a linksys router and the download of sp1 quickly passed 2% and completed.  i tried on some other w7 machines and experienced the same thing.  again, once i bypassed the firewall on those w7 PCs, the download completed w/o any issues.

i subscribe to the content, gateway, and spyware services, but even if i disable those, i still have issues.  i am wondering if there is something else that i am missing.

i have a sonicwall tz180 at another office and i have w7 PCs over there that dont have any issues at all with windows updates, specifically w7 SP1.

thanks.

Take a look at "Method 2" of the following.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/922330

and also

http://www.experts-exchange.com/Security/Software_Firewalls/Q_21634890.html

either should give you the answer.
