Change klients from MAK to KMS key

I'm just curious to know. Say you have configured a KMS server after you've installed 100 clients with a MAK key. What procedure would you use to change all existing clients to use KMS instead of MAK. My only idea is to run a script at login.

At first I thought: why not just leave them alone and just let re-installed clients use KMS. Well, KMS will only let clients activate after 25 clients have contacted the KMS server. This might take a signicant amount of time before 25 clients have been installed. This seems like a really strange procedure to me, but maybe someone can explain what the idea is?

You can actually use the Volume Activation Management Tool (VAMT 2.0) to replace the keys that are installed in machines after Vista/2008. It's available here:
