How do I change an Excel column that is formatted as a percent, back to a whole number?  I changed the format to General which changed it to a decimal - from 50% to .5.  How do I just remove the % and have it read 50?

You are going to have to multiple the values by 100. Put 100 in an unused cell, press CTRL+V, select the cells to edit, select Edit->Paste Special and check Multiply.
