Drag and Move items from Shared drives

An XP user is experiencing these problem, where whenever she drag a file from or to a shared drive, a copy of the file is being left on the source, so pretty much it is dragging and copying, instead of dragging and moving, it only happens when doing so with shared drives. please help!

how to change settings for shared drives, so we can drag and move files instead of drag and copy files??

This is normal behavior. Drag and move works when moving files from one place on the local machine to another place on the local machine. Moving files between machines (server, desktop, what have you) necessitates a cut and paste as dragging is normally treated as a copy process.

Have her hold shift while dragging and dropping and it will move it instead of copy.
