Has it been able to send pdf invoices successfully until now? If so, close quickbooks and go to c:\documents and settings\all users\application data\intuit\quickbooks<version>\and rename qbprint.qbp to qbprnit.qbp.old.

Reopen quickbooks and try again. The file above will be recreated.

I tried that.  But I could not find this file.

qbprint.qbp to qbprnit.qbp.old.

Are you attempting to send estimates or invoices or both?
If you are not sending estimates, skip this first section

If you are sending estimates:
Open Quickbooks.
Go to File and click Preferences
Click "yes" to indicate you create estimates.
Try emailing an estimate again.

If you are not using estimates:
Close Quickbooks
Click the Windows start button
In the Search field type %temp% and press enter
Press Ctrl and A - all files should be selected
Press the delete key
Open Quickbooks and try sending

If the above does not solve the problem:

Tell me if you installed QB from a download or from a cd.

Hi

Trying to send invoices

%temp% bringing out many files that have nothing to do with quick books

QB installed from CD

Thanks

Now instead of sending invoice. It just keeps trying and circle keeps going around to show it is not responding.

It is safe to delete everything in the %temp% folder. The files in that folder represent temporary copies of files that are currently being edited, temporary files created by installation programs, and portions of programs placed there for fast retrieval. The files should be deleted when the program that creates them closes or the operating system is rebooted but some are left behind when programs crash or the system does not get to shut down properly.  Deleting those files is part of what the windows disk cleanup tool does.

Reboot and complete these steps before opening Quickbooks:

Delete the items in the temp folder and try sending again. If it does not work, msxml may be corrupt.

To reinstall msxml:

Download msxml.msi from Microsoft to your desktop.
Click the Windows start button
In the Search field, enter: msiexec.exe /fvaum "%userprofile%\desktop\msxml.msi"
and press enter.

Open Quickbooks and try sending.

HI, Nothing fixed.  Finally found out that Quickbooks Quickstart 2009 does not work with Windows 7. So I bought new quickbooks pro 2011 and it fixed all the problems. Thanks

Well I am having the same problem now. I recently upgraded to QB 2011 on a Win7 64b PC. Today is billing day and when I went to send the invoices "can't create PDF." Followed everything outlined here and just spent 2.5 hours with QB tech support that did nothing. They repeatedly installed XPS Writer, had me remove other printers, etc.

Anybody else have any ideas. I cant "print to pdf" using my adobe printer its just the emailing of invoices that is completely hosed. Thanks
