unable to restore vista backup

I did a windows backup on my vista work machine on May 1st, and the next day when installing FDE on my computer the machine goes down.
I replaced my computer and when I went to restore my data I go under the advance restore option in vista and select restore backup from another computer.

I select the drive letter for my external drive, and windows does show several days worth of backup, I choose May 1st, select all files, and then tell windows to restore to a folder on my c drive with keeping the subfolder structure along with the drivers as subfolders.
The restore process starts and then I get the following error:
"The trust relationship between this workstation and the primary domain failed 0x8007006fd."

Both computer were created on a domain with my profile setup, before shipping the computer to my home office. Right now my computer is not on a network.

Thank you for your time and effort,

This can be easily resolved if you can get this computer added to the domain, once added to the domain you would be able to restore the data.

Thank you for the quick response. I was hopeful a different work around would be possible to resolve this problem since the machine is offsite, but I appreciate the link you attached.
