Is there a way to create a task like and appointment or event in MS Outlook 2007 or 2010 that allows the user to post the task in the calendar on a day and specific time so that it would show up like an appointment. Then when the task came due it would create a popup message and that way if you had a task it would be taken off the task list once it is complete.

I can see that when I am in tasks you can associate (attach) a file or email with the task but you cannot schedule that task to popup when due like a calendar date and time appointment when that task should occur.....and I do not see if or where you can attach a contact to contact to a TASK......is that possible as well?

It seems like Microsoft missed an opportunity to allow that.......A POPUP MESSAGE WHEN A TASK IS DUE THEN SHOW THE EMAIL OR FILE THAT INVOLVES THAT TASK. IT WOULD BE NICE AS TO MOST PEOPLE I THINK APPOINTMENTS ARE WHERE I NEED TO BE AND TASKS ARE WHAT I NEED TO DO...................
Is this possible.......in the works or a future feature someone could suggest to Microsoft.

In Outlook 2010:
Create the task
Check "Reminder" and set reminder time

That will create the pop-up on  the date and time the task is due.

You can insert anything from Outlook into the task:
While in an individual Task window, click Insert > Outlook Item
Below the OK/Cancel buttons you will see the option to insert as text or link
Browse to the email, contact, calendar, or task to be inserted
