new install office 2010 - will not open any old files

Four new computers with Win7 installed and Office 2010 Pro Plus.  All work fine except for one. Outlook, Excel, and Publisher all work fine but Word will not open up any of the Office 2003 files transferred from the old computer.  I can start Word fine but when I try to open a file from old computer, it stops and says Word has stopped working and tells me a problem caused the program to stop working.....etc.
I have tried doing an Office Repair Install and deleted the normal files but no luck.
Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks.

check if the settings are checked in Word 2010:

    1.       Click File > Options > Trust Center, click the Trust Center settings button.

    2.       Click File Block Settings. Then make sure the checkboxes for the following items are not Checked:

Word 2007 and later Documents and Templates
Word 2007 and later Binary Documents and Templates
Word 2003 Binary Documents and Templates
Word 2003 and Plain XML Documents

Click OK to save the settings.

Then, try to open the Word 2003 document in Word 2010 again.

If the problem persists, open Word and Excel 2010 in safe mode, and try to open the  2003 document again

Go to Run and Type winword /safe
Or Hold the Ctrl Key and click the word icon from All Programs.

    Accepted Solution

I found the problem.  The problem went away after I unchecked the "add-in" loading within Word that enabled "send to bluetooth".  Thank you for your quick replies.
