VPN and Mapped Drive on MAC

Once you make the connection to Windows Server using MAC VPN program on your MAC, how do you browse the network?
On Windowns computer, you can simply do \\IP address or \\computer name or run a .BAT file that creates mapped drive on the fly.
Are these possible on MAC when connected to WIndows server via MAC VPN?
Thank you in advance.

    Accepted Solution

Assuming that the VPN connection provides local DNS, the answer is yes.  Open Finder and from the Go menu at the top select Connect to Server.  Here you can enter smb://servername or smb://servername/sharename. This will connect you.  IP address works as well.  Assuming the Mac is bound to AD, you shouldn't even have to put in your creds.
