vb.net ado mysql

currently got working code for send data to a csv
Public outfile
Private Sub csv_handler()
        Dim csv_out_string As String
        ''''''''outfile at 5min intervals
        csv_out_string = String.Format("{0:g},{1:00.00},{2:00.00},{3:00.00}", DateTime.Now, x1, x2, x3)
    End Sub

Now I want to write that to a mysql database table using ado.net and vb.net express edition

please help

well, the only issue you need to ensure is that for MySQL, the datetime must be in format 'YYYY-MM-DD' and with time 'YYYY-MM-DD HH:MI:SS'

but what code do I use I am fairly familiar with mysql dataset and tables from a web design perspective but not from vb.net so I need to know how to connect and update the data first

I do have a timer setup for 5 mins if thats relevant

that mentions 2005 not 2008 will it still work I thought It had to use ado.net too
