XML Parsing Error in Wordpress

Hello -

I am using a modify wordpress install of WordPress 3.0.5. There seems to be a space at the top of my feed file, but not sure where its coming from, or which file and where to edit. Here is the error I have received;

XML Parsing Error: XML or text declaration not at start of entity
Location: http://www.domain.com/feed
Line Number 2, Column 1:<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
^

I have tried to install the Fix Rss Feeds plugin which no success. It says it will not activate because of a fatal error. I believe that this is because the backend may have been modified, since I did not build the site I dont want to mess around too much. Look forward to the help. Best

Hi,
Can you save a copy of the XML file as a text document and post it here.  Please replace all sensitive information with dummy data.
I am interested to see if there could be other errors.

Hello,

If you could let me know how to pull or find the xml that would rule. This site is a bit different than wordpress I have worked with, i could send you a private link to the live site if that would be more helpful. would rather not post the url here.

Open the feed url in a browser (e.g IE) and then save the page as a txt/xml/All files document. Please send me the url using the contact information on my profile. As always I do not promise anything. Am going to offline soon. It end of the day here.

I have check the url you sent me. (Thanks).

The feed is not an xml file at all. It starts with a javascript code. It looks like an html page. I suspect that one of the modifications is to include a script at the top of all the pages and this is messing up the feed.

http://codex.wordpress.org/Customizing_Feeds list the php file you need to look at. One of the modifications may be in there.

Sorry but hard to help anymore. Would have to spend some time looking at the code a bit more.

tHIS MAY also help  http://www.seodenver.com/custom-rss-feed-in-wordpress/

The site looks good by the way!
