I am trying to make a room booking system using MOSS 2007. The user will use the calendar on the page and book a meeting room. One calendar will represent one meeting room. If the room is already booked in a selected time slot, the request will be rejected. Can anyone please help me.
I know there is something available from Microsoft called 'asset booking system' but I don't wanna use this and want to make a completely new application.
Detailed instructions with some code will be really apprecited. I want to use VS 2008 for this

This is an old blog that delivers some of the type of functionailty that you are looking for, this is actually based around Employee training but the concepts are similar. Basically instead of booking a class, you are booking a room. The workflow are used to validate the class (or room) availability and if they are pull (based on class size) then the workflow gets rejected.

SharePoint 2007 Employee Training Site Template

Again, not a complete answer, but it should get you started down the right path...
