Hey guys, just setup a new SBS 2011 server, and I've installed Exchange 2010 seperately (from the same SBS package though).

When I login to EMC, I am getting the following error:
No exchange servers are available in any Active Directory sites. You can't connect to remote Powershell on a computer that only has the Management Tools role installed. It was running the commmand 'Discover-ExchangeServer -UseWIA $true -SuppressError $true -CurrentVersion 'Version 14.1 (Build 218.15)".

I am trying to access it as the Administrator user, that has access, and when I run dcdiag here is the errors I get:

You cannot successfully install exchange separately using SBS media. Eith each error you fix, another will pop up to take its place. You should reinstall SBS. if this was a migration, restore the source server and restart.

Really? I installed it off of the same SBS media package (second disk).. what if I am unable to do a clean install? Are you positive there is no way?

Yes. The SBS installer ties in exchange, activates it, and does the integration steps necessary for licensing. That is nearly impossible to do manually. Restoring and fixing whatever went wrong that made you decide to install manually is the only safe and supported way, and is faster than fighting through the mess a manual install leaves.

Unfortunately, I screwed up the setup for the company since I had to restart my system and it never popped up again. Is there anyway I can redo it without having to format/reload the SBS 2011 again? I've already set my own AD and what not.

Going back and doing a clean install isn't an option. If I can get back to the setup (won't mind redoing AD, plus the shares), or just installing Exchange on it's own - those are my only options.

I'm even at the point of willing to hire someone to setup Exchange on this SBS. Let me know what's possible. Thanks for the help!

I'm a bit confused, so please bear with me. I'm not intentionally trying to avoid your questoin, but now the circumstances are unclear to me so I can't *give* you an answer until I understand the underlying issue.

You say if you can get back to the setup and you don't mind redoing AD plus the shares, and Exchange is clearly not installed yet so no mail would be lost....why can't you do a clean install? What issues do you think rerunning setup would avoid that a clean install will not?

Nothing, I am just unable to go back to the location, and I can only do it remotely. Hence why I was wondering if I can just do the initial setup (when I input company info, etc.).

Nope. Reinstall is really the only practical solution. While not directly on topic, because performing a bare metal recovery also requires console access, if you don't have someone on the site that is technically savvy enough to start the initial install, you should consider installing a remote management option on the sertver. This would be helpful in your current situation, but would also be almost mandatory if you find yourself in a DR situation down the road that requires a full restore.

There isn't anyway to do a "Repair" in which will fix the problem?

If not, and say I do a clean install, will I need to go to each workstation again and add it to the network? And setup new user profiles, etc. (Mind you I set my own static IP and I know SBS creates its own static IP also).
