old exchange database

hello
I have been asked if i can retrieve some emails from 2003 off an old server.  looking at the structure it would appear that they got a new server in 2009.

i have found what seems to be the old mail database on the old server

a priv1.edb file and a priv1.stm file

is there an easy way of using these files to view the actual emails within this mail database?

thank you for any help

You could use a 3rd party utility such as Ontrack PowerControls. This attaches directly to the EDB and allows you to export the emails to PSTs or to other Exchange servers...

Yes,you need to use third party utility such as Ontrack or lucid8's (http://www.Lucid8.com) "Digiscope" to extract all mailboxes from that DB to PST.
