Change one color to another

How do I change one color to another?

See attached image.

Step 1 is greenish.

I want to create versions of Step 2 and Step 3 that also have the greenish background.

Are they different layers? Is the text and the background one image? Or are they layered?

If they are different layers, use the Color Overlay. This is probably the fastest way.

Double click the icon of they layer you want to change, a pop up windows shows up.

from there you can choose the menu item that says "color overlay". You can make it whatever color you want, as well as using the color dropper to select the color from anywhere else on the canvas.

However, if the Select Books and the background image are ONE FLAT layer, you will have to take it from an entirely different angle.

ASKER

It is just ONE image.
My attempts so far have left the letters looking fuzzy and ugly.

Let me spend some time and see if I can pick it apart.

I guess it does not need to look IDENTICAL.

So far it seems like even money....creating it from scratch or trying to manipulate the existing image.

I'll update here when I finish.

I ended-up just doing the entire thing over, building the pieces and then layering them into a composite.
