I have a HP Proliant DL380 G5 server.  The light on the power supply in the reary is flashing green.  THe server will not turn on.  The power supply light in the front is amber.  All mother board lights are green.

Any idea what the flashing green light on the power supply means?

    You probably have to replace the power supply.

    The service guide on that model states that that LED should be:
    Green = Normal
    Off = System is off or power supply has failed
    It doesn't state whether it should be blinking or steady, though.

    As for your power LED on the front:
    Green = System on
    Amber = System shut down, but power still applied
    Off = Power cord not attached or power supply failure

     I wouldn't say that anything points to a PSU failure right now (although I don't know if the light should be blinking). I assume the server is connected to a UPS. What happens if you plug it into a wall socket? Could it be the power button itself that isn't working properly?
