I need to have a drop down list that has the following things:

the other

I know how to do that.  :-)

Next I need to have the following:

If "This" is selected from the drop down list, a1 thru 3 dispalys the following

a1 123
a2 456
a3 789

If "That" is selected from the drop down list, a1 thru 3 displays the following

a1 abc
a2 def
a3 ghi

If "the other" is selected from the drop down list, a1 thru 3 displays the following

a1 123abc
a2 456def
a3 789ghi

Is there a way to accomplish this??

    Accepted Solution

Note, the formula in A1 - looks at the drop down list result in C1:

    =IF($C$1="This","123",IF($C$1="That","abc",IF($C$1="the other","123abc","")))

Then for A2, and A3, the results are slightly different, as requested..

    =IF($C$1="This","456",IF($C$1="That","def",IF($C$1="the other","456def","")))

    and A3:
    =IF($C$1="This","789",IF($C$1="That","ghi",IF($C$1="the other","789ghi","")))
