How to make myself sending email using distribution group address ?

Hi,

In my Exchange Server 2007, I've just created a security enabled distribution group with me and some members, I also have checked (put tick box) in the "Send As" attributes from ADUC console.

But how come I always get NDR "You are not allowed to send this message because you are trying to send on behalf of another sender without permission to do so. Please verify that you are sending on behalf of the correct sender, or ask your system administrator to help you get the required permission." ?

I wonder what should I do in order to resolve this issue ?

On the security tab of the distribution list, you need to grant yourself access.

See link for instructions. http://msexchangeguru.com/2011/01/31/send-as/

To view the security tab, you should enable advance view from view menu.

Given that you have already granted send as permission via the security tab.  Can you try adding send on behalf of permission and see if that works.

I have waited for 5 minutes so that AD replication took effect.

I cannot find the location to make send on behalf ? Where is that ? ADUC or in EMC ?

As you are doing this from AD it would take some changes to reflect.
You can wait for sometime and give a try or run the command from Powershell

Add-AdPermission "Group Name" -user "User Name" -AccessRights extendedright -ExtendedRights "send as"

no not yet, even though I have already grant myself explicitly using:

Add-AdPermission "Group Name" -User "MyUserName" -AccessRights ExtendedRight -ExtendedRights "Send As"

How can this be so hard ?
User                : DOMAIN\MyUserName
Identity            : DOMAIN.com/Users/Group Name
Deny                : False
AccessRights        : {GenericAll}
ExtendedRights      :
IsInherited         : False
Properties          :
ChildObjectTypes    :
InheritedObjectType :
InheritanceType     : None

User                : DOMAIN\MyUserName
Identity            : DOMAIN.com/Users/Group Name
Deny                : False
AccessRights        : {ExtendedRight}
ExtendedRights      : {Send-As}
IsInherited         : False
Properties          :
ChildObjectTypes    :
InheritedObjectType :
InheritanceType     : All

yes, that's what I've done so far :-| but somehow it is still failed ?
maybe I shall try send-on-behalf-of this time ?

"Send on Behalf" - You need to give Send on Behalf permission and when you send a mail the recipient would get a mail as your name and "Sent on Behalf".

Change the Security Group to Universal Group and make sure it is mail enabled. Because Exchange 2007 only sees groups which are Universal Groups.
