Pickup the a BBC stream from outside England

I am looking to pickup a BBC media stream from their website.

I have tried VPN'ing into my server in England but it doesn't seem to want to work, my server in England can pick it up no problem, but I don't want to watch it over a terminal server session!

Anyone any idea's?

You can save the stream using your enland box and FTP it back here and watch it...

Also you could install a proxy server program on your England box and put the proxy settings in your browser. Or install a VPN client on the england box, VPN to it, an do the same without proxy settings.

My second answer regarding proxy and VPN will work as a solution.

I already have a vpn setup back to England, didn't work, I setup a proxy on the same server in England and that didn't work either...

VPN should work if it's setup to send all traffic through the VPN. This is usually a setting somewhere not enabled by default. What is your VPN server and client?

I believe the setting is called "use default gateway on remote network"
Also I think you need either pptp or l2tp, but this isn't my specialty.

I have relatives in the UK, but I live in the USA.  The relatives alert me to BBC sites that have videos of interest.  However, I frequently cannot download them.  If I want to see them, my relatives must download in the UK and email the files to me.

Have you tried http://www.daveproxy.co.uk/ ?

I have posted two links.  One says "Some clips and packages are not available outside the UK because of rights reasons. If the BBC has secured the rights to broadcast a clip only in the UK, then non-UK users will be unable to access it. "
And jackieman has suggested using a proxy server located in the UK.
I believe my post correctly states the reason why the BBC streams cannot be seen outside the UK.  But since Cuteadder does not wish to use a proxy server, there seems no solution for Cuteadder.
I suggest points to both jcimarron and jackieman.  And do not delete the thread.
