Can I use Fast Ethernet in Cisco router as a WAN port?

Hi,

I have one Cisco 1841 Cisco router,

The box contains one power code & manual only,

router contains 2 FE, 1 console & 1 AUX port integrated, (slot0 & slot1 is empty)

Now i need to connect this router with my LAN & WAN

WAN port will connect to one fiber optical device which support Ethernet port,

Pls suggest do i need to buy WAN modules for WAN connection or I can just use one of Fast Ethernet port as WAN port,

Awaiting for your earlier reply,

Many thanks in advance,

The integrated FastEthernet can work as WAN port.

WAN modules (WIC) for Cisco 1841 provide interfaces for different TELCO-type connections as T1/E1, ADSL, etc. If your WAN is Ethernet-based you don’t need a WIC and you can one of the Fast Ethernet ports.

thanks RPPreacher & spaperov for your prompt replies,

my ISP is going to use HUAWEI's 100BaseT port no 1 as a WAN connection using CAT5 or CAT6 cable which should go to my Router's ethernet port...... here i want you experts to advice whether I can use my Fast Ethernet port as a WAN port in my 1841 router?

Kindly advice so i can open a new question for configuring it properly.

many thanks once again in advance,
