In Short, Wrapper is designed such that SSRS don't have dependency on IIS servers..

Thanks -- it was very helpful. I'm not very familiar with web pages so this is a good lesson for me.

Considering the web wrapper example, is there any way that I could piggy back the network credentials onto response.redirect? Avoiding going into the default web page and just hitting the server where the reports are located. It's more of a test to see if I could get to the web page than to produce a report. Hopes this makes sense to someone.

Thanks,

Do you mean to say that you want to check whether Reporting service or website is up and running rather than producing report.
If your objective is to check whether Reporting service is up and running, then you can do it via some monitoring tools or some script scheduled in either SQL Server or Windows Task scheduler..
