Exchange 2010 Email Archiving
Good Day Gents,
We have just upgraded our environment from exchange 2K3 to 2010. we would like to apply email archiving to get rid of PST files headache.
In exchange 2010, is there a way to apply the archiving policy on all mailboxes with retention of 3 months without giving the user options to choose the policy. In other words, I do not want to give the end user the choice of archiving, I want to force the archiving policy on all mailboxes.

Thank you.
exactly what we are looking for is online archiving.
what is the best way to force online archiving on all mailboxes without giving the end user the option to choose or modify archiving retention.

Each mailbox will need to have an online archive enabled. And archiving can be setup in the usual way via GPO.
Just in case, don't forget to install SP1 for exchange 2010 and you can create an archive store. With RTM, you will be stuck with the archive in the same store as the mailbox.
