i'm using Adobe Photoshop CS5. I bring up the window to create an ACTION. How do make the list show that contains "Add Menu Item" as part of my action?

I'm not quite sure what you mean by "add menu item?"

When creating an action you are limited to the commands that are part of Photoshop. If there is not an item that you want to use in the Photoshop menu you must either get it to show before you start recording your action, or learn (or assign) a short cut key and use that instead.

In an older version of Photoshop when I created an action I had to bring up another panel. Example"
ALT F9 to bring up actions window. Click record. ( then, wanting to add brightness and contrast) I had to  bring up another window that says something like "insert menu item" so that it would insert the menu item without having to use the mouse to click IMAGE, ADJUSTMENTS, BRIGHTNESS CONTRAST.
The help F1 with Photoshop leaves a LOT to be desired for a newby.

I FOUND IT! It is the top righmost icon in the action window. My command is there. Thanks for your assistance!!

Clicked the wrong place. I wanted to give all points to the only Expert. Obviously I don't get points.

Hi "Need."  I think that we can get a moderator to straighten this out.

No need. Just by commenting here automatically notifies a mod, however it can take a while for them to get to it sometimes.

Note to Mod:  Author wants to change distribution of points.
