Exchange 2010: Recover Mailbox

Our company just had a high-level exec leave who decided to "permanently delete" (via Outlook) his entire mailbox on his way out last week. We have a backup from the end of April, but would like to recover the most recent version of his mailbox possible. Would an expert be able to tell me how to recover the data (without right-clicking deleted items and hitting "recover deleted items" - works well for one-by-one, not an entire mailbox)?

a.      Create a new empty Recovery database
b.      Restore the DB from backup to this new RDB.
c.      Recover mailbox from that RDB by using Restore-Mailbox command: Restore-Mailbox -RecoveryDatabase RcoveryDB001 -RecoveryMailbox "Mailbox name" -BadItemLimit 2 -Identity username ( here is a full list of Restore-Mailbox parameters).
To create a new recovery database ( recovery database is new in exchange 2010, recovery storage group was used in exchange 2007 and earlier version), use this command  New-MailboxDatabase -Recovery -Name “RecoveryDB01” -Server MBX1 -EdbFilePath “D:\Restore\Databases01.edb” -LogFolderPath “D:\Restore” ; replace the paths with correct ones

ASKER

Forgive my ignorance, but is there no way to revert a mailbox to a previous date without a backup? My only backup is from the end of April and I'd love to be able to get a later recovery date than that. I figured Exchange would have some spiffy feature like this since the log files are separated from the database file.
