Outlook 2010 - rename the "Junk E-Mail1" folder

For some reason, I have two junk e-mail folders in Outlook 2010:

Junk E-Mail
Junk E-Mail1

I would like to delete the folder with the "1" in the name; however, that one has a red circle indicating I cannot rename or delete it.  I can delete the Junk E-Mail folder that does not have the red circle -- but if I do that how can I rename the one that is left??

If you delete the Junk E-Mail folder (or at least move it to another folder as a subfolder), will the Junk E-Mail1 (that cannot be deleted) allow you to rename it then?

    Accepted Solution

You could also try closing Outlook and then running the resetfoldernames switch.

    outlook /resetfoldernames

^ before applying the above, be sure to remove the Junk E-Mail folder that doesn't have the red circle slash icon on it.

I removed the Junk Email folder I could delete and then ran the outlook /resetfoldernames -- that did the trick.  Thank you.

outlook.exe /resetfoldernames  - worked after I enabled Cached Exchange Mode.
