BES to Apple iPad?

Not long after finally deploying BES (express) its lookign like the ipad is the preference for soem users.

Just wondered how the ipad really integrates into business in terms of managing, security etc...
Can the devices be maanged internally or via 3rd party/cloud partners?  Costs?

Thanks

You can use Mobile Device Management

iOS 4 Mobile Device Management capabilities give IT departments the ability to securely enroll devices in an enterprise environment, wirelessly configure and update settings, monitor compliance with corporate policies, and even remotely wipe or lock managed devices.

For costs you would have to approach on of the partners, it depends on the numbers of users you are going to deploy.

Blackberry (RIM) has announced that it will provide management capabilities for iOS and Android to be delivered later this year.

It will provide management functionality only, not push email which is still being reserved for Blackberry devices. If you already own BES, this will likely be your best option unless you need to deploy sooner.

already have bes express.  i can see this possibly becoming an issue (ie lack of policies) when locking down the android or ios devices.... and requireing enterprise..  hopefully not though...

It depends on your company's IT policies. Obviously, it would be best to be able to exert control over any devices connected to your domain, especially if your company allows personal devices to access company resources. You will not find a free product to manage iOS devices. We looked... If you develop the need to enforce policies on these devices, you'll either have to purchase a standalone management product or upgrade your BES. The costs will probably be similar, but I can imagine the BES upgrade cost being lower over the long term.
