Index in PDF created by OpenOffice without list items in index

I want to generate a PDF from an Openoffice/LibreOffice Writer document. The document has three levels of paragraphs, and then mostly lists. For the table of contents I use those three levels, and I want the same for the PDF index.

When I open the PDF, the index has the paragraph titles plus the complete lists. This is useless, as it's just a replication of the content.

Is there a way to set OO to use only the paragraphs for the index of the PDF?

Per the above (start on page 2), change the document attributes and atribute levels to be evaluated.

Please reread my question. It is not about the TOC. The question is about generating PDFs, and nowhere in the document I can find the word PDF.

The table of content is easy to create, and I have no problems creating a TOC that only uses 2 or 3 levels. The problem it that below the paragraph headings I have lists, and those lists appear in the index of the PDF, and that is completely useless. That is what I want to fix, not the TOC in the document itself.

Still think you need to change the attribute levels to be evaluated as per the previous link I gave you.

This link tells you how to create a linked pdf index for highlighted bulleted items; try reading into this for clues on how to do for non-bulleted lists.
