edit a picture "in" word 2007

I want to edit procedures and have screenshots I want to "enhance".

I just want to put text in the picture
  "put in fqdn of server"
   " put in managers name"

and the likes

Any suggestions ?

Word is not an image editing software. If you need to add text to an existing image in a Word file, you could insert a text box with a transparent fill (or opaque, whatever fits best), and format the text in the text box to match the theme of the image.

Click Insert > Text box > draw the text box over the image > type the text > format the text box font and fill.

To position the text box in the correct location, select the text box and use the "Wrap Text" drop down on the Text Box Tools ribbon. Use a setting other than "in line with text", then you can drag the text box to a position of your choice.

this is better than what I asked for.  I can write on a picture and then edit it after the fact
