XenServer 5.6 FP1 Backup Options

I will be installed XenServer 5.6 FP1 on a stand alone server with local storage. I will backup up my VM via a third party backup application but how can I backup the XenServer itself? The config files, etc...

I have heard really good things about phdvirtual (www.phdvirtual.com) if you want a commercial solution.

http://docs.vmd.citrix.com/XenServer/4.0.1/installation/apbs04.html is instruction from the Xen people on how to backup and restore Xen hosts and VMs.

The 2nd link above is as native as you can get.

HUmm..

COuld I just write a script to copy / dump the config and other core files to a network share that is then backed up to tape?

Yes you can.  But don't ask me how, I am NOT a Linux geek.
