Blackberry Activation Error

Hi,

I need to setup a different user on the same Blackberry. I restored the Blackberry back to factory defaults and deleted the old user from BES Manager.

I added a new user and set the activation password in BES Manager. I have then enter this on the phone. All was going well until it stalled for 20 mins on 'waiting for services' and then the error appeared on the screen:

"An error occured. Please conact your system administrator"

I never had these problem before and i have set up many blackberry's before. On the BES server you can see the PIN assigned to the user and then disappears when the error message pops up on the phone.

Any one can shed a light, thanks

Can you try deleting the Desktop [CMIME] service book and then run activation again to see if the process will complete afterward?

Does the new user have the correct Blackberry Data Plan with his Wireless Provider...ie BES Data Plan?

This is the most common issue that i come across.

Good Luck!

yobri: I can't seem to find Desktop [CMIME] in service book option

saastech: At first they gave me the wrong data plan in which i had a different error:

“Activation request failed. A service connection is unavailable”.

I think i'm on the right pan now (business)

Wipe the device.
Activate again.
See if the encrypted mail from RIM reaches the user mailbox.

Good luck

when i wipe the device i get a registration email from blackberry, "your handheld has been registered with the wireless network.

I don't receive any other email on the handset even if i set the activation password...to be honest i never seen email sent to the device when i set activation password on blackberry's before, thanks

The encrypted mail (ETP Mail) from RIM will be in your inbox and the BES server is listening for this mail to initiate the activation. You should be checking for this mail on your Inbox - not on the device.

Good luck

Good luck

Hi Shaba,

I manage to get it working..not idea but it worked.

I had to activate it by downloading the BB desktop manager on the user PC and then connecting the phone to the computer and activate it from the software. Proem is that when i go to enterprise activation on the phone it says 'not activated' but the emails and calendar all works now.
