Got program and features-turn on windows feature on and off - click on plus sign next to media features- put a check on media player and click ok.<br />

If still not working then create a new user account ...restart the computer and then login under the new account.... your media player should work.<br />

Did u try creating a new user account..that should fix your problem..issue might be caused due to corrupt user profile....because u r computer was infected by virus.<br />

Windows media player 12 is not opening in windows 7. &nbsp;There are no error messages and this computer did have a virus not too long ago. &nbsp;I have used malwarebytes, security essentials, superantispyware, and ccleaner. &nbsp;I turned the media feature off and back on but to no avail. &nbsp;Other programs look to be working fine.
