Default Profile Windows 7

I recently deployed 25 pc's with windows 7. All are logged into domain. In XP there was a default profile which could be copied to from a pristine profile that had printer, odbc, etc. settings configured so when anyone would log on to the PC these settings would stay in tact. Windows 7 does not seem to have this functionality. Can anyone help??

I believe the only approved method to modify the Default Profile in windows 7 is via Sysprep....

What all are you wanting to change?

Perhaps GPO? One method I do, when setting up new systems, is modify the Default User registry hive directly, mounted via a command line, and then using "reg add" commands to change settings. This does still work in Windows 7, but depending on what you want to modify this also might not be ideal....

I received an error when renaming the hidden default profile when logging into the domain with a new user that hasn't logged on before. Then renamed the profile back to default & back to square 1...

More depth on sysprep although it is the correct solution.
