Windows 7 permission issue

I'm setting up a new HP elitebook and have joined user account to the domain while I was logged in as administrator. When I log in as under my user credentials and attempt to access Explorer or Control Panel I receive the following:

"Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions."

I made sure my user account is part of the administrators group on the machine. So what the heck?

Your domain user is part of administrators group? It should read domain\user in that group?

Also, are you sure that you logged in as the doamin user?
Windows 7 you have to type domain\user as the user.

I deleted and re- added my profile. Seems to have worked.

Actually now the problem I'm having is it is using a temporary profile and not allowing me to create a profile for my user. What the heck again?
