Possible to use TMG as an ad blocker?

I'm trying to configure a web access rule that blocks web ads - I found a really good post at , but I'm stuck on this section:

4. In your web access rule, go to HTTP filter configuration and create 3 signatures:
Request URL: block the content "ads"
Request body: block the content "ads"
Response body: block the content "ads"

When I right click my new rule, I do not have a HTTP filter configuration option?  In fact, I can't find that option anywhere, even on the rule created by TMG.

Is anyone aware of 3rd party add ons for TMG that handle this?

No need for that, just create new deny access rule ( protocols: http/s) from internal to (url category = web-ad).

keep it above the allow rule

Thanks - I tried that but it didn't get NEARLY the same number of ads as, say, Ad Blocker.  I'm hoping the instructions in the post will eliminate many more.

I found the signatures - they can only be adjusted on an 'allow' rule, I was trying to adjust 'deny' rules.

Anybody have leads on a 3rd party solution that might be more effective?

    Accepted Solution

http filter only on allow rule, but it works like to deny traffic with contain these filters... you can configure the http filter on the allow rule..
