The include directive is to execute/import  code meant to be executed on the server. The javascript block you posted is meant for the browser, so you need to import the js functions to the browser first.

Create a js file with the function definitions you are trying to use and "import" it using <script> tag.
<script src="yourNewFile.js"></script>

>>does it dont work that way?
Correct, it does NOT work that way. The code that you posted on ID:35739591 is meant to execute on the server. That's why you see runat="server".  The javascript code you posted on your ORIGINAL problem description is meant to execute on the browser only.

take the code on post ID:35739591 and get rid of the following two lines:
line 1 (<script language="javascript" type="text/javascript" runat="server">)
line 234 (</script>)

then save lines 2-233 as md5.js. Then INSTEAD of what you posted on your problem description use:

<script src="md5.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
function checkAmount()
{
try
{

do not USE runat="server", NOT <!--#include ...-->

What I gave you before is the "complete" file. The 500 error is something caused by a server-side script error. What I gave you earlier will execute only on the browser. So you must have something else that is executing on the server.
