Getting errors when installing Exchange 2010

Hello,

I just finished installing Windows Server 2008 R2 on a Windows 2003 domain. My primary function level is at 2003. I have an existing 2007 Exchange server on a different computer. I am trying to install Exchange 2010 on this one, and when it is finished I will retire the Exchange 2007 server.

I am having a hard time getting past some of the pre-requisites even though I have them. Here are some of my error messages, and I will also include my comments. What else do I need to do?

Please let me know if you have any ideas on how to get past these errors so that I can install Exchange 2010 onto this server.

Thanks,

In active directory domains and trusts is it set to Windows Server 2003 native or Mixed.  It needs to be Windows Server 2003 native.

I think there is an option to have exchange install what it needs for iis have you tried uninstalling it and letting the exchange install do it.

Here is something odd. I noticed that my domain functional level is 2003 but my forest is 2000. I can't figure out how to make my forest 2003. If I try to raise my domain functional level it tells me I am already there.

Simplify Active Directory Administration

Administration of Active Directory does not have to be hard.  Too often what should be a simple task is made more difficult than it needs to be.The solution?  Hyena from SystemTools Software.  With ease-of-use as well as powerful importing and bulk updating capabilities.

OK, I got passed the forest functional level. I could not make changes on the 2003 servers and found that I could raise this on the 2008 server. Now, the errors i still ahve are related to IIS.

I think there is a check box when you install exchange to have it install the roles it needs maybe that is just in the sp1 install but can you check?

Thanks for your help. In the pre-requisite doc, I copied and pasted all the power shell commands and it did the trick. The install is now finished.
