Gateway SA6 (M Series)

I am trying to reload a recycled (by customer) Gateway SA6? Says M Series on bezel. But there is a BIOS Password that wont go away. I have tried to remove the battery to clear CMOS but no success. Their website is garbage and no help at all. Anything i search on google seems to be infected. Please help! thank you in advance!

    Correction, it is a HDD password in BIOS

    See the Laptops area article on laptop BIOS passwords.  While there is no info specific to Gateway laptops, it may give some ideas about your options.  If you discover anything, please let us know so we can add it to the article.

    Reviewing the additional posting, if it is an HDD password and not a BIOS password, the laptop manufacturer will not be able to deal with it.  There are only two ways I know of to remove an HDD password:

    a.  Do a "security erase" using MHDD or equivalent drive utility, which will clear the password and fully erase the drive.
    b.  Ship the drive back to the drive manufacturer and pay to have it removed.  This poses several problems.  It is probably an OEM drive without manufacturer warranty; proving that you own the drive will be an issue; there will be a charge; and several manufacturers use encryption without backdoor overrides.
