Vag Com / car software

Hi,
I was wondering if someone is able to help. I have no experience with car repairs but want to start trying some basic repairs myself. I have an Audi TT and I recently received an error.
I bought a simple code reader from ebay to read and reset codes and I was able to identify the issue as a break pressure sensor. After looking through the install instructions it mentioned that I would need to bleed the brakes as well as the clutch system and “initiate basic settings”.
I spoke to someone in my work that has some experience in car repairs and he mentioned that I would need specific software to allow me to reset sensor readings etc.
He mentioned http://www.ross-tech.net/ and said that this software will work for you. I wanted to get the cheapest option of software that will allow me to do this along with a USB cable that will work.
Any help or suggestions with this would be appreciated. I have also heard about vcds compatible cables with software?

Thanks,

Cheers,

Ross

As far as I know the software you quoted:(http://www.ross-tech.net/) is your best option.
