Externally access filezilla with DNS ip

Just a quick question that could the filezilla client access filezilla server through dns ip externally via WAN ?

If you mean the client is from the internet, yes it can. If you mean the client is in the same internal network as your server, it depends on your router /firewall. If you can't connect the client, you can always add the external DNS name to your internal DNS server and point it to the internal IP address of your FTP server, that way you just 'fool' the clients but they can connect.

i set the dns ip in the filezilla's passive mode's Retrieve external IP address from ,
it could not connect filezilla from outside (over internet), tried at home yesterday.

then i changed filezilla's server setting to default settings, then connect from client by entering server ip, then only can enter

Then there must be a problem with the DNS name. Probably Filezilla can't determine the real DNS name, this can be caused by many things. In case you registered a domain, the easiest way is to add an 'A' record on your (external) domain DNS server, pointing to the external IP of your FTP server. Hope this helps.
