Hello,

I'm looking for a script which can spell check a document and output a formatted file.

Thank you

You may want to look at Unix utility
aspell -l

It would show the word again if a spelling is wrong

You can try like

echo "This is a sentense" | aspell -l

This would return back "sentense" because it is misspelled.

For simple formatting you may want to look at Unix fmt utility.

Perl version of the same can be seen as

Also you can use Pspell

What exactly do you mean by formatted file?

Do you want the spell checking to auto-correct or to just provide a list of the questionably spelled words?

I'm interested in outputting only words found in the dictionary from input.txt to output.txt.

Thanks

Hi faithless1,

wilcoxon is asking:
What exactly do you mean by formatted file?  What's the answer?

Please provide sample input and output data.  I suggest you do this for all your questions, if possible, as it makes it a lot easier for experts to answer without guessing or having to ask extra questions, and they can more easily see when they have a working solution.  It also helps you to think clearly about your requirements.

Thanks.
