Merge template issue

Hi all

We use an application within Word to create templates. One of these templates is a letter.
In this template you can add a field called contactperson.
One of my colleagues created a letter with a particular contact person filled in.
She send it to another colleague who merged the letter with an excel file.
When the merge is done, the name of the contactperson in the template is changed to the name of the person who created the template.

When i try it myself with a custom made excel list I don't get this error.

Can you please advise

    Accepted Solution

Are you using a Mail Merge document, or is there some other mechanism to fill in the name?

What sort of field is the one to display the contactperson?

Field results are not automatically updated. To ensure that they are updated, select the document and press F9.

    Hi Graham

It is a mail merge document. I will try with F9 and let you know
