How do I restore sound on my Toshiba laptop?

I have lost all sound on my Toshiba laptop.   It was previously very faint.
I have gone into Control Panel and checked the settings there - but still nothing.
I am trying to get the sound for a video on YOuTube featuring President Obama

My sound procedure checklist :
-in device manager, check if the card is installed without errors
-if needed, install / uninstall the  UAA HD Audio Bus driver
-start>run>services.msc  and check if the Windows Audio service started and set to automatic?
then, from Device Manager>view   click "show hidden devices" , now  right click your sound devices, and select Uninstall.
Reboot, and cancel the wizard to reinstall
Install your latest drivers, and reboot to complete the install......
-in the audio and sound applet>audio tab check if the sound card is selected
-in the volume section, check if the sound is turned up enough, and NOT muted
-in the audio and sound applet>sounds tab select the start windows sound, and check if you can play it
-check if the speakers are connected to the proper sound output (green)
-test the speakers on another PC

and post results, or problems
Try to check/reinstall the sound's drivers of your laptop.

hi Nobus
I have two files in Services.msc : WindowsAudio and WindowsAudio Endpoint Builder.   Both of them relate to  duplicate files relating to

Audio shows this C:\Windows\System32\svchost.exe -k LocalServiceNetworkRestricted

Endpoknt Builder shows this: C:\Windows\System32\svchost.exe -k LocalSystemNetworkRestricted

Does it matter that they both show System32 when it is a 64 bit machine.  Also Audio has a password and a confirm password.

I am running Windows 7.

Originally I had sound coming out of the laptop for music this morning.  That has disappeared and I have been unable to get sound for the video online.

Hi Nobus
Yes it worked.   It required  me uninstalling the drivers andre-installing them and working through the list you provided.
The volume iisnot very good but at least it works.
