I need to perform Secure FTP with Foxpro

Currently, I use microsoft's FTP.EXE supplied in the operating system to perform file transfers from mainframe to workstations then import into foxpro databases.  My users just enter their password and I create a script file used by FTP.EXE.  Apparently corporate head office does not approve of this since it is unsecure.

I am looking for a secure FTP application that I can run from Foxpro with a script file so my users still do not need to know where the files are coming from or going to.

Any ideas?

Have you done a Google search for:
               sftp vfp
               sftp activex

Both will provide you with a number of tools to utilize to get SFTP working.

Personally I have used the various Chilkat tools to address a number of 'challenges' - SSH/SFTP among them.

Good Luck

No FTP storage is secure because the communication is not ecrypted but it seems this is not the main concern of your corporate head office...

So, you may use Custom FTP class designed especially for this purpose:

Of course, sftp is better from the security point of view.
Robo-FTP is a scriptable and supports secure transfers with SFTP, FTPS, and HTTPS.  It has a full scripting language with over 100 commands and is supported by real live people.  From FoxPro you could either launch it and specify the script and files to send as command line parameters or you could use the COM / ActiveX interface to control Robo-FTP directly from within your application.
