Backup program produces message saying not enough space
Using Norton Backup and get message that there is no more room but this is not true - it saves to hard drive and there is a lot of space. I have searched on your database and it seems a successful solution - not with Norton - was something to do with %temp% files and/or fiddling with compression switch - but I am not expert enough to have followed all that! It seems though that the program thinks there is not enough space when in fact there is....

Thank you: Can you outline how I would go about checking the Norton configuration? Unfortunately I won't be on that computer until much later tonight but if you can describe the steps I can look at that.
I believe I only have a C Drive on that computer ie no D partition...

I don't know Norton, but I've seen symptoms similar to this which led to my suggestion. You'll have to take a quick dive into the manual. Look for things in the 'configuration' or 'options' section.

Sorry, I have not yet managed to get to this computer to test the above - thank you for your patience.

In fact this was a none question in the end so please delete from your stats!
Do you have multiple disks, or multiple partitions on one disk? Perhaps the target partition/disk has lots of free space, but the partition or disk where the log files/database is kept is close to full?
The answer you get about a different program is not likely to have a solution for your totally different program.
