Users mailbox not showing in the Exchange management console

we have an issue with a user, who can be viewed in the SBS console, but isn't there in the Exchange Management Console.
The user is working, and this was brought to my attention when I tried to search for him in Outlook,(Control k) and couldn't find him in the directory.
I have restarted the services, and refreshed many times, but his mailbox account just simply doesn't show.
I'm a little reluctant to delete the user and re-attach a new account to the mailbox as I can't see it.
Anyone come across this before? or any ideas?
