Add "no results found" message to first tab of tabbed results in Google Custom Search

My Google Custom Search uses a customized tabbed results page, based on this JS:

http://pastebin.com/i2AqFyWW

which I got from this previous EE question:

http://bit.ly/ee-q25343115

I notice, though, that when no results are found, it gives a blank screen without a "no results found" message:

http://cicw.cc/search/results.html?q=asdf

How/where can I put a "else display 'no results found'" type of command in my JS?

Because you have presented a solution to your own problem which may be helpful to future searches, this question is now PAQed and your points have been refunded.
