Brother MFC-8890DW Email Setup Question

I am trying to setup the email on this Brother MFC-8890DW so that I can scan to email etc and notifications sent from the printer.  When I plugin the gmail account settings with all of the correct ports and authorization settings it fails every time.  Gmail pop and imap are enabled for the account and I tried calling Brother and they tell me that I need to call my email provider.  Has anyone set up the scan to email function on the Brother and if so are you using Exchange or Internet Email Provider?Any help and/or insight would be greatly appreciated.

Best Regards,

Brian Hayes
